Microsoft Lumia 640 LTE Budget Smartphone

The Microsoft Lumia 640 LTE may be the successor to the Nokia Lumia 635, but it is the first in a new line of Windows Phones, and Microsoft has clearly made its mark on the handset, increasing its spec to compete with other budget 4G smartphones.

Microsoft Lumia 640

Despite being a budget 4G handset, with a sim-free price tag of around £130, the Microsoft Lumia 640 has a relatively high spec which will help it to compete with other low cost 4G devices such as the EE Kestrel and Moto G. As well as a reasonable spec, customers that buy the Microsoft Lumia 640 LTE will also receive 30GB of OneDrive storage and a twelve month subscription to Microsoft Office 365, which are substantial benefits.

So let’s take a closer look at the Microsoft Lumia 640 LTE:

Display: The handset has a 5 inch, 720p screen with 294 ppi. The front panel is covered in Gorilla Glass with oleophobic coating.

Specs: The Lumia 640 has a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. It has a removable 2500mAh battery, and a microSD slot which can take memory cards up to 128GB.

Design: The device has a removable back cover which is available in different finishes and colours including black and orange. It has clean rounded edges, and all the important buttons are on the right of the phone, making it easy for right-handed people to use with one hand.

Camera: On the back of the phone there is an 8MP camera with single LED flash and rear-firing speaker. On the front there is a 0.9MP selfie camera along with the call-speaker and microphone.
