O2 / Telefonica 4G data plans will be available later this year and as soon as they launch their new 4G mobile broadband data plans then we will provide details of the O2 4G SIM card offerings.
Here is what O2 says about their 4G network rollout in the UK:-
“Seamless connectivity. Faster speeds. Experiences you can only get on O2. 4G has it all. And will be available in London, Leeds and Bradford from the 29th August.”
We aim to keep rolling out 4G to an average of 2 million people a month so that our 2G, 3G and 4G network will reach 98% of the UK population.
By the end of the year, our 4G network will be live in 13 cities: London, Birmingham, Leeds, Bradford, Newcastle, Glasgow, Liverpool, Nottingham, Leicester, Coventry, Sheffield, Manchester and Edinburgh”.
So it seems that you will soon be able to enjoy 4G mobile broadband on the UK’s second 4G network. All you need is a 4G device such as a 4G phone, 4G smartphone, 4G modem or 4G router as well as a 4G SIM Card and to be in an O2 4G location and you can enjoy superfast o2 4G internet.
So far O2 have not given any technical details about their 4G network and whether it will be double speed 4G or any indication of maximum 4G download and upload speeds. There is currently no information available about O2 4G SIM Card Data Plans or mobile phone tariffs.
